All About Financial Aid

**Financial aid is available to those who qualify**

You must be a U.S. citizen with a valid social security number, be working toward a degree or certificate and maintain satisfactory progress once in school. If you are a male between the ages of 18–25, you must be registered with the United States Selective Service. You must have a GED or diploma to receive financial aid assistance.

Documents Elite College of Cosmetology will need:

Proof of Identification/Age
Social Security Card
High School Diploma or G.E.D
Federal income Tax Return IRS 1040,1040A, or 1040EZ (if available)

The FAFSA is based off the previous year's TAX RETURN! Please complete the IRS Data Retrieval Tool available on the FAFSA when filling out (access with the FSA user ID and password), or contact www.irs.gov (1-800-908-9946) to order a "tax transcript”
The FAFSA can be done at home online or you can come in to fill out a FAFSA by making an appointment with the Financial Aid Director.
Once the FAFSA is submitted, it usually takes 4-5 business days to process, and we will receive notification at Elite. We will then notify each student via phone.

*All students must apply for a fsa user ID and password before filling out the FAFSA.

This can be done at www.studentloans.gov and click on CREATE NOW.
The verification will take 1-3 business days to process through the Social Security Administration.
You will receive an email once it has been processed or you can call 1-8004333243
Once it has been processed, you will be ready to fill out the FAFSA.
All students who are dependent students MUST also have one parent apply for a fsa user ID and password also.
MPN (Master Promissory Note) must be signed in our office or www.studentloans.gov & entrance and Exit form must be filled out in our office..-these two things will be done within 30 days after start date.
